Under the deal, Williams agreed to drop a proxy fight against the bank in exchange for an expansion of the board of directors to include two of his nominees, including McMinn, who couldn’t be reached for comment.
This is the latest in a series of departures for the bank, which has lost four of its five named executive officers in the past year-and-a-half. Chief Financial Officer Paul Harbolick Jr. resigned in May; Chief Credit Officer John McKenny III, 57, retired this spring; former CEO Tom Young was let go in early-2010 and is now with Access National Bank Access National Bank Latest from The Business Journals Loan scheme tangles D.C.-area banks in lawsuits and fraud allegationsWashington-area SBA lending drops off after incentives endAlliance Bank CFO latest executive departure Follow this company ; and former Executive Vice President Frank Grace left the bank last fall and is now Virginia-area president for Bank of Georgetown Bank of Georgetown Latest from The Business Journals Congressional Bank gets infusionBank of Georgetown raises M to fuel expansionErnst & Young announces finalists for Entrepreneur Of The Year Follow this company .
On top of that, the bank’s former Chairman William Drohan also stepped aside earlier this year to become vice chairman. He was replaced by Donald Fisher.
Much of the turnover is likely tied to the inherent pain involved in the bank’s turnaround efforts, led by CEO Bill Doyle Jr., who took the reins in early 2010. Financially, that turnaround seems to be working well. Alliance has posted five consecutive quarterly profits under Doyle’s tenure, after a long string of losses. Doyle also couldn’t be reached for comment.
