I pulled a credit report because of a declined application. Does that restart the clock for the annual report, or are they separate events?
There are two federal laws that provide free credit reports. The free annual report is provided by the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACT Act) of 2004 which is an amendment to the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
The FCRA was enacted in the early 1970s and provides for a number of other free reports. Since its inception it has allowed consumers to get free reports if they:
Can you help me find someone? I’m not sure what his or her name is, but I have a very clear description of this person
You see, a good friend of mine was the mastermind behind the company 1-800-GOT-JUNK. I’m sure you have seen their trucks driving around. Brian Scudamore is such a great guy, awesome entrepreneur, and a man I look up to.
Over the past year, he has been on a search for someone to run his company… not just any person, the right person. Since I know that many of you are seasoned businessmen and woman, I thought I would send this to you. If this was a fit, it would be a game changed for both of you.

Brian is looking for someone who fits this description:
“I am a high energy, results driven leader. People on my team know we play to win. When the goal is clear, I don’t let anything get in our way. I work hard to ensure my team is composed of top talent and that their teams each have the right people, in the right seats. I develop
How much do the Bush tax cuts and the alternative minimum tax patch widen the deficit? Take a look at the lightest blue bars below:
That chart comes from the Congressional Budget Offices latest report, released Wednesday, on the budget and the economic outlook.
The office is legally required to provide estimates for the budget under current law; this is known as the forecast baseline. Every year, though, Congress reliably makes changes to current law changes that increase the deficit just in the nick of time. This bar chart is intended to illustrate exactly how big those last-minute changes are, lest onlookers be tempted to ignore them.

Moss Lumber & Hardware Co., one of Northern California’s oldest and largest family-owned lumberyards, has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy and boarded up their business. The late-founder/family patriarch, Hollis Moss, founded the company in 1946, after leaving the service and saying that he never again wanted to work for anyone else.
At the height of their business in the mid-1990s, Moss Lumber employed some 200 workers. The recent economic adversely has affected the company, as well as other lumber retailers across the state.
Contractors that had dealt with Moss spoke highly of the now-defunct company. In an article on www.redding.com by David Benda, they said that “they were saddened to see the doors shut at a company they say delivered stellar customer service and quality products”.
Moss Lumber’s largest creditor is Redding Bank of Commerce, which holds a $5 million claim on the Eastside Road property, $4 million of which is unsecured. Other unsecured creditors include the Internal Revenue Service, Shasta County Treasurer/Tax Collector, the state Employment Development Department and the state Board of Equalization. They also allegedly owe unpaid wages to 27 former employees.

No Magic Point
Magic formulas do not exist for most every threat offered people in their day to day lives. So, there is no magic time to declare bankruptcy. However, if your debt is mounting so that it is beyond what you earn on an annual level, you could be in trouble.
Money Still an Issue? Five Steps
Still, regardless of when you finally decide on going for bankruptcy, you will still need money. A personal or unsecured loan may be the best way to put that need to rest, especially after your pleas for bankruptcy have been successfully met. Read more…
